Engineering, Repair & Maintenance:
TEi has extensive experience in plant repair and manufacture in the energy, process & manufacturing industries:

Overhauls & Shutdowns
TEi has, through many years, built up a reputation for the successful completion of overhaul and shutdown work on energy and process plants:

- Detailed pre-shutdown planning
- Management of own direct labour and sub-contractors
Welding Development & Welder Training:
TEi is at the forefront of the application of modern welding methods in the energy, process and manufacturing industries.
TEi holds over 200 ready-to-use pre-qualified welding procedures and is a research member of The Welding Institute:
- Own welder training school for employees & third parties
- Development of special welding techniques
- Welding of carbon and stainless steels, alloy steels and exotic alloy
New Construction:
TEi successfully completes capital projects for plant owners, OEMs and turn-key contractors:
- Installation of capital equipment, mechanical balance-of-plant and pipework
- On and off-site fabrication of process and utility pipework and steelwork
- Computer based project planning
- Management of multi-discipline project teams and sub-contract administration
Pipework & Steelwork:
TEi fabricates pipework and pipe supports. Structural steelwork erection is also a regular feature of the work carried out by TEi for its Clients.
Work may be undertaken in the TEi workshops or on site according to clients’ requirements:
- Design development, detailed drawing and piping spool drawing production from clients’ basic designs
- Computer-based stress analysis

Mechanical & Thermal Design:
TEi Technical Services provide mechanical and thermal design consultancy services for owners of CHP plants, boilers, heat exchangers, mechanical handling and associated auxiliary equipment:

Explosive Engineering:
TEi Yimpact provides the following explosive engineering services for heat exchanger users and manufactures:
- Tube to tubesheet welding
- Tube plugging and tube expansion
- Explosive cleaning
- Enhanced operational reliability
- High joint integrity and plant life extension
- Leak tightness of equipment operating at high temperature and pressure
- Controlled explosive charges are also used to remove deposits from industrial plants, eg waste to energy units
Condenser & Heat Exchangers:
TEi Yimpact tube inspection & refurbishment services include:
- Repair and Refurbishment
- Eddy current Inspection
- IRIS ultrasonic inspection
- Ultrasonic thickness measurements
- Dinsearch electromagnetic inspection
- Re-engineering and re-moduling for life extension and performance enhancement
- Exclusive agreement for use of "Retubeco" de-tubing equipment for shortened downtime
Steam & Boiler Spares:
Utilising original design data and drawings for numerous makes of utility and industrial boilers still in operation worldwide, the company provides boiler owners with specialist engineering and technical support, including:
- Spares, Repairs and Service
- Spares for boiler plant, incinerators and ancillary equipment
- Manufacture of individual replacement parts
Metallurgical Laboratory:
TEi Metallurgical Services has a well equipped, UKAS accredited, materials laboratory serving the company’s own internal quality requirements and providing an extensive range of test house services to external clients:
- Materials and weldment mechanical testing
- Scanning electron microscopy
- Failure mode analysis
- On-site metallurgical examination including microstructure replication
- Chemical analysis and corrosion testing
- Positive Material Identification
